My name is Vicki Grunewald and I live in the greater Seattle area. I’m originally from Maryland and moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2010 after graduating from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Journalism focused on print.
Upon arriving in Seattle, I worked in technical recruiting for a few large tech companies. I realized recruiting was not my passion, so I left the industry to explore new opportunities and to teach myself a fresh set of skills, including Photoshop. I quickly found that I loved following Photoshop tutorials and turning a blank canvas into something beautiful. When I realized how incredibly happy and proud I felt after successfully completing a Photoshop project, I knew I wanted to pursue design as a career. I am currently working towards that goal, starting with earning a master’s degree in Mass Communication focused on web design and online communication through the University of Florida, graduating in Spring 2016.
When I’m not learning all I can about web and graphic design, my husband and I love to travel and take advantage of Seattle’s incredible food, beer and wine scene, as well as all of its hiking, kayaking and paddle boarding. You can find me on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
